iPod Nano 5th Gen – What it’s all about?

September 17, 2009

Recently Apple released it’s 5th generation of the iPod Nano. The first thing you’ll notice when looking on this new sexy 5th Gen iPod is the screen, it’s 0.2″ larger than the previous version which is 2″.

ipod

So what’s new about this iPod? Well, first of all, this iPod have a camera, which shoots videos. Sadly all this camera does is just… shooting video, you can’t take picture with this iPod, it captures H.264 VGA video, 640 by 480 pixels, up to 30 frames per second with AAC audio. Second, Apple decided to make a build-in speaker into this iPod, which the previous version of the iPod Nano doesn’t have. About the new feature ‘voice over’, I don’t really know what it means but I think it’s the same as the iPod Shuffle? The voice thing?

Let’s move on, Nike + iPod! Yay! It’s finally available for this iPod Nano! For all those people that loves to excersice can use this iPod with your Nike.

About the look, hm… nothing has changed, the shape, the weight, (I think so) but there’s something that changed in the look. The body, it’s all shiny compared to the 4th gen. Personally, I don’t like this ‘shiny’ idea, imagine, the more shinier it goes, the easier to see scratch marks on it.

Oh wait, before I finish, there’s something that I forgot to mention in my posts above. There’s FM and AM radio on this iPod. I was b****ing with my iPod complaining that there was no radio in the 4th gen. But now Apple has come up with FM and AM radios.

The others is same, like battery life, the capacity, which is 8GB and 16GB.
This iPod is priced at
8GB – RM599
16GB – RM719 (Dammit, cheaper than the previous 4th Gen)
If you’re thinking of getting one, go ahead.

That’s all for today!

Updates: Short Win7 review + LCD Bracket fix

September 7, 2009

Hey guys, sorry for not updating my blog for weeks, but I am back! Today I wanna rant some bad stuff about a local computer shop that helps me fix the LCD bracket that broken 1 week ago.

Let’s start with the LCD bracket first.

It all started on a beautiful Sunday morning, when I was busying spamming in /k/(Kopitiam), I adjusted my screen to prevent the sun glare, I tell you the morning glare is unbearable! So when I slightly pushed the cover, there’s a very disturbing sound, and yes, it’s a CRACK sound. I was like “SSSHHII–!!!” Then I try to move the cover from front to back, it’s now very flimsy and very easy to fall to the 180° point. I was so shocked then I tell my mother about it.

Now for the fixing part. Today my mum sent my laptop to fix the LCD bracket. I’ve waited 1 week for the bracket to arrive from KL to here. And I tell you, the bracket and installation fees are very very freaking expensive. At first the guy told me that the bracket itself is RM100 and the installation is another RM100. Then there was this awkward silence… My face expression changed. My mum was like making that annoying face again.

So the days comes and finally I go the the shop and toke back my computer, and guess what, they gave me back the broken bracket! Some pictures first!

Bracket1

Now there’s the broken LCD bracket. After I get back home, things get sour. I turned on my computer, realized that they’ve turned on my computer! How can they do that? You know how I know that they’ve turned on my computer? I pushed the power button and the “Resuming Windows” thingy appeared. I was like “phew phew phew”, luckily I backed up all my freaking files and hidden some files. Hopefully they didn’t manage to see the hidden files. I was thinking, that shop is a famous local computer shop, why they do  not have a privacy policy? If my files are not backed up and hidden, my privacy will be invaded! Damn! I swear to god I will NOT go back to that shop unless my computer have some serious problem again. (NOTE: The shop is the one and only Acer Service Center in SDK =.=”)

Now, moving on, I give you my short review of Windows 7! Yes! Windows 7! Who never heard of it?!

I am currently using it as my permanent OS. I tested the build 7137 on another partition sometime ago and I found it quite interesting. For now I’m using the Win7 Build 7600 RTM. There’s pros and cons about this brand new OS that is gonna released my Microsoft on the end of October.

So here’s some pictures

As you can see there’s a new taskbar that is quite different from Vista’s. Nothing special about my desktop..
From my point of view, Win7 is definately faster than Vista. You really can feel it. I upgraded from Vista to Win7. It took me 45 minutes and I must say that’s quite fast. I don’t know because I’m upgrading inside my computer but not by a DVD.

Some more pictures.
The new window. Bigger “minimize, resize and close window” button. Easier to click then Vista’s.

I apologize for the large image. :P

Some say that Win7 uses less resources than Vista. But…

908MB used of RAM although it’s idle…
As a conclusion, Vista>XP, Vista>Win7, but, still… Win7>XP.
That’s just my opinion, don’t flame! I can’t wait for the official release.

My hands are burning now and I need to get a bath, it’s really hot here. It’s just started to rain.
So, I will try to update as much as possible in the future.
All the best!~

Fakap (What is fakap?)

July 26, 2009

“Fakap” Original word – F***ed Up
What is fakap? And why people use this particular word? i.e “Streamyx is fakap today”

Here’s why.
The Definition of Fakap

  1. Act carelessly or foolishly
  2. Used to express frustration or dissapointment
  3. Be very confused or mentally ill; also, intoxicated
  4. A place named Taman Fakap Utama
  5. Just a plain and stupid expression, “fakap all those nonsense”

I really lol’d at the fourth one. Why the hell the authorities name that place as Taman Fakap Utama? It’s just funny.
I’m freaking lazy to type. For now, I’ll just say bye for my readers… Ngam ngam eat bah… Sure sleepy kot :P

Just a quick update. (New theme!)

July 23, 2009

I’ve been optimizing my site because Streamyx users reported to me that they’ve a hard time getting into my blog because of their connection to WordPress. Which sucks, so, I just chose this theme as my well, theme, basically. Haha. It’s more simple, no high resolution images that will slow down loading speeds.
So, hope you like my new theme!

Fabian.

I recieved my Ubuntu CD!

July 23, 2009

What’s up guys. It’s been awhile since my last update. I’m quite busy (as usual). Anyhow, this is my update about my Ubuntu CD which I just ordered 1 week ago. Now I finally recieved! It’s fun seeing something in your mailbox, isn’t it? Haha! This version of Ubuntu is 9.04 and it’s the Desktop Edition. You may try the demo or just install it straight into your PC. Simple, right? The best of this little piece of OS is, it’s open source! You can modify it anyway you want without asking for the owners permission! And after modding your ‘style’ of Ubuntu, you can just pass it on to everyone that you want to share it!

Okay okay, enough of the typing, now.. I deliver pictures! (a.k.a drill in /k/ language)

**currently waiting for the upload process to finish….**

The front.

The back. Hehe… Now it’s time to crack it open!!!

To my suprise, STICKERS!!!! Wow! I can collect them! And the CD is finely packed.

Inside the CD cover. Nice wordings, brown color… I like it~

Overview of what’s in the package.

So this is it guys, thanks for watching! Oh and the official site for Ubuntu is Ubuntu.com
In there, you can also request for a free CD like me!

Bye.

RIP Michael Jackson 1958-2009

June 26, 2009

LOS ANGELES: Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop” who once moonwalked above the music world, died Thursday as he prepared for a comeback bid to vanquish nightmare years of sexual scandal and financial calamity. He was 50.

Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center after being stricken at his rented home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him.

“It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known,” his brother Jermaine said. Police said they were investigating, standard procedure in high-profile cases.

Jackson’s death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music’s premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

His 1982 album “Thriller” – which included the blockbuster hits “Beat It,” “Billie Jean” and “Thriller” – is the best-selling album of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold worldwide.

At the time of his death, Jackson was rehearsing hard for what was to be his greatest comeback: He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, with the first set for July 13.

As word of his death spread, MTV switched its programming to play videos from Jackson’s heyday.

Radio stations began playing marathons of his hits.

It’s just so sudden! I just woke up and viola. I go into /k/ and found out that KING OF POP MJ had passed away.

RIP MJ, Your sound and soul will always with us.

Services Review : MoreVPN

June 25, 2009

Howdy my fellow readers! It’s been a while since my last updates. :D I’ve been quite busy with my studies. Okay let’s get to the point.

As all of us know, Streamyx have bad routing to overseas ie. UK, Eu, USA, China etc. There’s no way to stop it from happening unless you kill the CEO of TMNUT you just go subscribe to another ISP which is hard because the beoadband industry is being monopoly by TMNET, a subsidary company from TM BHD.

So, to end the routing problem, a fellow forumer in LYN created his own VPN service. And the service has a few category. It’s made up of servers that are located in Singapore. Each server are provided 100Mbps unmetered bandwidth.

Since Singapore have international cables linking to the west reigion, surfing on it is like heaven on Streamyx users like me. I often suffer slow browsing to China websites, UK websites and even sometimes US websites.  This service provides just the need that we want — SPEED. Yes, it provide full speed when accessing foreign websites.

So this service is FREE, yes free. You can sign up for an account and they’ll give you a response within 2 days. No installation needed. Just configure in your PC, connect and viola, you have your own free VPN service.

There is a few stages of use of the server in this service.

One is the free server, which holds up to 600+ users. And the other is premium VPN. For the premuim one you need to pay for it. While the free one still remain free.

Sample of speed using their server.

And oh yea, I forget to mention that the service is not only premuim and free alone.
They even have Downloaders VPN! The downlaoders VPN is priced at RM25/month

Notice, if you’ve signed up for an account, please use this VPN visely. DO NOT USE THIS VPN TO P2P. Think of others. If you’re using it for P2P, you’ll get kicked out of the VPN service. Again, DO NOT TORRENT OR P2P WITH THIS FREE SERVICE.

Oh Shi-!

June 16, 2009

Oh shi-!!!

Damn guys, I think I will not be able to continue “My Trip to K.K.” Guess what? I accidentaly formatted the media memory on my phone!! After I pressed that ‘format’ button, I keep banging my head on the wall thinking why the freaking hell I did that.

Oh well, ‘nasi pun sudah jadi bubur’, I can’t do anything about that, all my photo’s video’s about the trip had been gone. Okay, IMMA tell you the story HOW I DELETED the media folder.

Okay, after eating lunch, I sit down infront of my computer, playing my phone for awhile. My phone is a SE W960i. It’s touch screen. So after I’ve done playing it, I noticed that I’ve messed up some settings on the phone so as usual, I head over to the main settings and head for the ‘Reset Settings’ button. After that, I accidentaly moved my finger to the “Format Media Memory” and pressed it, I was shocked so hard that I hit the “confirm format” button.. OH SHI-!!!!!!!! It’s too late, it’s already formatting. As you know, there is no point pressing the ‘cancel’ button sinse SE phones are popular of ‘hanging’… I keep pressing the cancel button but nothing happened.

That’s how it gos.. So, I would like to apologize for my mistake and I confirm there’s no more ‘My Trip to K.K. Part 2′

Time to go. **Lights Off**

BIG BIG SIHAM (Only in Sabah)

June 11, 2009

Before I start let me explain WHAT is SIHAM. Siham is cockles. Cockles is basicly used in cooking like Char Kuey Teow, Laksa, etc.etc.

So today after eating breakfast with my family, (We eat at some local restaurant that is famous for it’s “pei tan gao”, which is near to the sea). We jalan-jalan and suddently something catched my eye. I freaking stopped. My mum and my sis asked “Zou meh si teng ohh?” (Why suddently you stopped walking?)

I just point at that freakingly bigdunnohowtsay.jpg siham! My mum and my sis also stunned….

Then we walked near that siham and the tauke (boss) asked us what to buy, my mum din’t answered but just walk towards that HUMUNGUS siham…

There’s a tag above that group of siham saying : 1KG RM4.00. Is it cheap? I dunno because I don’t use to buy siham lol…

Then we picked up that siham and started to take pictures of it, the tauke’s look’s is like we’re from jungle never see siham before, but really, this siham is HUGE!

Some pics.

Huge, isin’t it? Can vs. with my hand liao.. LOL! Anyhow my mum buy some siham (YES! Along with this beast!) And some fresh fresh fish…

Then we head bck home.  If you have seen even larger siham and have a pic of it, do feel free to post the link at my comment box and I’ll show it to others! Oh if you’re a /k/tard and reading this, you’re the resistance. :D

My Trip to K.K. (Part 1)

June 7, 2009

Yes! I’m back guys! And now with my trip to K.K.! (FYI, K.K. stands for Kota Kinabalu). K.K. is the main capital or capital city of Sabah. If you wanna know more about K.K. and it’s places of interest, you can search on the internets, there’s a tonne of them out there.

Okay, let’s get started. We left home on 3rd June, at night around 8:00PM. Bacause to travel from Sandakan to K.K., you’ll need 7 hours of no-stop driving. It’s a 330KM journey. You maybe thinking, “what the freaking hell do you need so long to travel a 330KM road?” Well, I’ll tell you why later.

So, we reached my dad’s eatate at 9:30PM. We stayed one night there, and in the morning, the view of the estate is just horeible! beautiful!

Here’s some shots. (Please take note that I used a 3.2MP camera for this trip. Sorry no DSLR lol!)

So, we started our 4hours journey on 7:00AM. Olong the way, you’ll see many ‘trees’. These ‘trees’ are very famous in Sabah. Guess what’s the ‘trees’? TIP*: It’s from the coconut tree family too.

YES! It’s Oil Palm Tree!!!
There are alot of them in Sabah. Some shots.

Some oil palms.

Some more Oil Palms…..

And after we passed Telupid, (Telupid, a small town in the center of Sabah), we started to rotate climb.

We’re starting to climb because we’re near to Kundasang.

So this is the thing that slows down the whole journey, the following roads are like this. So that makes a 3hour journey to become 7hours. My dad is like driving 40KM/H. (FYI, that’s a Toyota Land Cruiser)

After 1 hours of trevel-ing, things get abit, well… foggy…

Guess what? My dad was driving at 10KM/H. (Shake head)

After 1 more hours of long long road, we stopped at Ranau (Another small town) to go to the washroom.

And now, the moment that you’re waiting for! Mount Kinabalu!!

Huge, isin’t it?
MOAR!

Perfect!!

Okay, I’ll type till here. Keep visiting for the Part 2 of “My Trip to K.K.”! Thanks for viewing!
Oh wai-!
More info about Mt. Kinabalu..

Mount Kinabalu (Malay: Gunung Kinabalu) is a prominent mountain in Southeast Asia. It is located in Kinabalu National Park (a World Heritage Site) in the east Malaysian state of Sabah, which is on the island of Borneo in the tropics. It is the tallest mountain in the Malay Archipelago.[1]

In 1997, a re-survey using satellite technology established its summit (known as Low’s Peak) height at 4,095 metres (13,435 ft) above sea level, which is some 6 metres (20 ft) less than the previously thought and hitherto published figure of 4,101 metres (13,455 ft).[2]

The mountain and its surroundings are among the most important biological sites in the world,[3] with over 600 species of ferns, 326 species of birds, and 100 mammalian species identified. Among them are the gigantic Rafflesia plants and the orangutan. Mount Kinabalu has been accorded UNESCO World Heritage status.[4][5]

The main peak of the mountain (Low’s Peak) can be climbed easily by a person with a good physical condition, and requires no mountaineering equipment. Other peaks along the massif, however, require rock climbing skills.
